Tonight's experience was absolutely horrible, definitely not what I was expecting at all. Great view, but poor customer service, food, and drink. We paid the $54 bill, that’s all the money they received. After the belligerence of the manager, I told her to give me the bill and I was not going to argue. Two meals and two drinks + water was $54. Had the manager been willing to reduce the drink price in half we would have walked out the door without worrying about a review. We requested the manager who was more belligerent than the server. When this was brought to the server’s attention her only response was the hand us the bill, no attempt to reduce the drink bill. The ‘blue Hawaii’ we ordered was green, full of pineapple juice, and little to no alcohol- the alcohol drinks were over priced and underserved. I ordered shredded beef enchiladas and the meat was tougher than rump toast. Do not waste your money on the alcoholic drinks. The view is nice, but not the drinks or food. I would definitely come back here next time we pass through or visit and you should too. The Cherry Pie was my favorite made with real cherries! (I need to go and check out that bakery!) It was a great combination and I thoroughly devoured every bit of it.Īfter eating so well, the kids and I definitely deserved dessert! □ Ice cream scoops for the boys, Locally Baked Cherry Pie, and Turtle Pecan Cheesecake for my daughter and I to share. I used the salsa verde that came with my kids’s burgers to add a nice kick since they didn’t eat it with their meal. I had The Esteban and added avocado slices. It was served like an open faced sandwich that was generously blanketed with the green chili. My daughter ordered a chili cheeseburger. We ordered cheeseburgers for our boys and they crushed it all! My husband enjoyed his Sante Fe Chili. We ordered Jalapeño Poppers, which is a must-order! They were delicious but watch out, they are hot, as in if-you-pop-them-into-your-mouth-the-cream-cheese-will-burn-the-insides-of-your-mouth hot! Despite being busy, she was friendly, sweet and attentive. Once seated in the outdoor patio area, we were greeted by our server, Brittany. To build mutually beneficial relationships between growers, chefs, and ultimately our guests at the restaurant. Like I always tell my staff, our job is to ‘find the best products we can and do everything we can to not mess them up!’ It is this same passion that I hope to bring to Pagosa Springs. “In our eyes, farmers and growers are the true champions of the food industry. My philosophy and approach to food is to build relationships with as many local producers as the community has to offer and allow locally sourced ingredients, along with seasonality, to influence the overall direction of the menu.” “Our menu highlights local and seasonal products, sourced from both Pagosa Springs and neighboring farmers and artisans. Meander is a new local food concept restaurant in Pagosa Springs whose aim is to create a seasonally-driven menu, inspired by locally sourced ingredients.” I am the Chef owner of Meander Riverside Eatery and I have been cooking professionally for almost 20 years now. Today we would like to feature Charles MacDonald of Meander Riverside Eatery who shared this narrative with us: The effort to capture the profiles of these integral community members was initiated as part of the Archuleta Food System Summit that took place April 9, 2022. These individuals uniquely contribute to the community’s vision for a sustainable, health promoting, and equitable local food system so that everyone has access to affordable nutritious foods. Healthy Archuleta, a local non-profit in Archuleta County also known as the FSFE/Food Coalition, continues to celebrate the local food heroes that make up the food system in Archuleta County and the surrounding southwest region.
